Se defiende la vida defendiendo la paz.
Bogotá, 5 de septiembre de 2018. – De acuerdo con las cifras presentadas por la Defensoría del Pueblo, entre el 1 de enero de 2016 y el 22 de agosto de 2018 asesinaron 342 líderes sociales y defensores de DDHH, hombres y mujeres que se han constituido en voceros de sus comunidades frente a temas como: restitución de tierras, comunales, campesinos, mujeres, orientación sexual, étnicos, sindicales, ambientales, víctimas de conflicto, desplazamiento, defensa del territorio y Derechos Humanos en general. El 69% de estos crímenes se han registrado en municipios priorizados para las intervenciones de posconflicto, principalmente en los departamentos de Cauca, Antioquia, Chocó y Norte de Santander.
Ante el clamor manifestado en la Gran Velatón Nacional por la Vida, el pasado 7 de julio, y la imparable racha de asesinatos, la bancada alternativa constituida por Colombia Humana, Coalición Lista de la Decencia, Alianza Verde, Polo Democrático Alternativo y Fuerza Alternativa Revolucionaria del Común, realizaron un debate de Control Político al Gobierno Nacional, citando a los ministerios del Interior y de Defensa Nacional; a la Policía Nacional, la Alta Comisión para la Paz, la Unidad Nacional de Protección y la Alta Consejería Presidencial para los Derechos Humanos.
En este debate se expresó que desde diferentes sectores sociales y de los Derechos Humanos, “se ha solicitado el urgente reconocimiento de sistematicidad para la protección de mujeres y hombres en riesgo, comprendiendo que el interés de quienes están detrás de los asesinatos de líderes, no solo pretenden extinguir sus voces, diezmar a sus comunidades, sino también apagar los motivos de sus luchas, razón por la que se exige salvar a líderes y lideresas de la muerte, además de atender sus demandas, parando la guerra en serio implementando los acuerdos de Paz, exigencia que le hacemos al Estado para proteger la vida que es lo más sagrado”, expresó la representante a la Cámara, Ángela María Robledo, de Colombia Humana.
Respecto a la política de protección, objeto del debate de cara al nuevo período de gobierno del Presidente Iván Duque, se señaló que se han hecho avances parciales pero al negar reiterada y contradictoriamente la sistematicidad de estos crímenes, se incumple con el carácter integral de esta política, situación por la que David Racero, representante a la Cámara de la Lista de la Decencia, manifestó: «con altura denunciamos y explicamos las razones por las cuales se están matando a los líderes sociales de una manera sistemática que el gobierno no quiere reconocer. Mostramos la negligencia del Estado en la no protección de la vida de estos líderes y lideresas, la ausencia del gobierno a nivel integral en los territorios y esperamos adelantar acciones de protección individual y colectiva».
Por su parte María José Pizarro, representante a la Cámara por la Lista de la Decencia aseguró que: “no podemos quedarnos contando día a día la pérdida de hombres y mujeres que trabajan para hacer posible un mejor país. Eso es intolerable. El gobierno del Presidente Duque está en la obligación de cumplir con los deberes constitucionales y con los compromisos internacionales para poner freno a esta nueva masacre de colombianos. Exigimos del Estado respuestas eficaces, que incluyan la puesta en marcha de un registro único que dé cuenta de todas las agresiones a líderes y defensores de derechos humanos”.
Luego de este debate, del Gobierno Nacional se esperan compromisos efectivos para frenar inmediatamente los asesinatos de líderes y lideresas sociales, reivindicando los derechos de sus comunidades en los territorios, con la implementación del Acuerdo para la Terminación del Conflicto, porque se defiende la vida al defender la Paz.
