Francisco, la renovación de la esperanza
Frente al tibio papel que cumplió la Iglesia Católica en la promoción del plebiscito por la paz que pretendía una refrendación popular a la salida política de la guerra que ha consumido más de nueve millones de víctimas en nuestro país, llega el papa Francisco, líder espiritual de los católicos, con un mensaje contundente de apoyo a la paz negociada y su implementación, a las conversaciones que se adelantan con la guerrilla del Eln, y a la necesidad de caminar hacia la reconciliación, que no es otra cosa que aprender a vivir juntos los distintos.
Francisco habló de pobreza, de inequidad, de las causas estructurales de la guerra, de los excluidos, de los descartados, de los invisibles, de la Colombia profunda, de la corrupción, del odio, del miedo, de dolor, de muerte, de una tierra regada con la sangre de miles de víctimas, pero sobre todo habló de perdón, de esperanza y de alegría.
Su paso por el país nos dejó a todos, creyentes o no, conmovidos con sus mensajes, claros, serenos pero contundentes frente a la necesidad de recuperar la esperanza y de mantener viva la alegría. Millones de colombianos se volcaron a las calles para contagiarse de su carisma y sencillez; su paso por las cuatro ciudades que visitó se fue transformando, poco a poco, en una fiesta que a pesar de tocar a fondo nuestro propio dolor de país víctima, pobre y excluido, sacó también a relucir lo mejor de nosotros mismos: la alegría de los jóvenes, la espontaneidad de los niños, la grandeza y generosidad de las propias víctimas, la fuerza de las organizaciones comunitarias y su ética de servicio, la bondad de los más pobres… “Basta una persona buena para que haya esperanza”.
Francisco no solo nos alborotó la espiritualidad, nos llenó de orgullo frente a nuestra riqueza humana y cultural, plagada de contrastes, de sonrisas, de diversidad, de colores, de sabores, de regiones, de música, de calidez; nos conminó a tomarnos de la mano como pueblo, para apropiarnos de una paz que nos corresponde construir entre todos, con verdad, justicia, reconciliación y perdón. “Un proceso de paz irá adelante solamente cuando lo toma de la mano el pueblo», dijo.
Desde Villavicencio en una conmovedora misa campal en donde escuchó atento los testimonios de hombres y mujeres sobrevivientes de la guerra y el dolor y ante la imagen contundente del Cristo negro y amputado de Bojayá, aseguró que: “(…) el odio no tiene la última palabra (…) el amor es más fuerte que la muerte y la violencia (…)
El papa cambió la agenda mediática y puso al país expectante en cada una de sus salidas. Su discurso no dejó títere con cabeza, habló en un estilo fresco para los miles de jóvenes que se prepararon por meses para su encuentro y los convocó a “no dejarse engañar, a no dejarse robar la esperanza, a no dejarse robar el futuro y a soñar en grande”; literalmente zarandeó a la Iglesia Católica y les pidió a sus jerarcas moverse y salir al encuentro de la gente; reconoció el papel de las mujeres en el mundo actual y la necesidad de abrir mayores espacios de participación para ellas; agradeció a soldados y policías su trabajo por la paz; echó puyas para la cizaña que no deja progresar el trigo y exhortó a los colombianos para que no se resistan a la reconciliación entre hermanos.
Gracias Francisco por ese soplo de brisa fresca a una Colombia que se encamina a abrazar la paz. Sin duda y como Usted bien lo dijo: “(…) La paz nos impulsa a ser más grandes que nosotros mismos (…)”. Amén.
